We search out Fair-Trade, Organic and/or Rain Forest Alliance Certified coffee beans. Fair Trade ensures fair payment to the coffee producers. According to the Rainforest Alliance's website;

Rainforest Alliance Certified seal is a guarantee that coffee is grown on farms where forests are protected, rivers, soils and wildlife conserved; workers are treated with respect, paid decent wages, properly equipped and given access to education and medical care.

These methods are being used to ensure a better future for coffee, its growers, and its consumers.

We tend our own organic gardens and produce for our kitchen. We notice a huge difference between our fresh organic and grocery store varieties. Coffee beans benefit in the same way.

We could buy less expensive, lower quality coffee beans, and save a dollar or two per pound. However, that does not support the environment, the land, and the health of both the workers and the drinkers. We do not plan to be competitive with large corporate brands, who often use lower quality beans and cover the deficiencies with over-roasting.

We love coffee and enjoy trying new cups. We plan on offering limited edition coffees. We will search out and experiment with coffees from all over the world and share those with you.
